TMO Renewables Appoints David Weaver as Chief Executive Officer

Former BP and CMS Energy executive brings 30 years of energy experience to TMO

Surrey,UNITED KINGDOM- May 15, 2012-TMO Renewables (“TMO Group”), a leading technology provider for cellulosic biofuels production, today announced the company has appointed David Weaver as Chief Executive Officer. Effective immediately, Weaver will oversee TMO’s overall direction, strategic partnerships and technological advancements to continue expanding the company’s reach around the globe. 

“David’s phenomenal track record in renewable energy as well as his ability to bring emerging energy technologies to scale makes him ideally suited to lead TMO,” said Tim Yeo, Chairman of TMO. “He will play an integral role in expanding TMO’s portfolio of global partners and accelerating the company’s growth worldwide.”

Weaver joins TMO with a deep background in the energy sector, holding executive roles in leading energy companies such as CMS Energy International and Southern California Edison. Subsequent to these positions, Weaver was the Managing Director in Europe for British Petroleum (BP) Gas Power and Renewables, where he pioneered BP’s renewable energy program and led the development of BP’s first renewable energy project and wind farm. He has also led several energy development initiatives in Asia, Australia, Middle East, China and India, and oversaw the continent’s largest power project while working for China Light and Power Company in Hong Kong.

Throughout his career, Weaver has also advised numerous banks, governments and investment funds in Europe,USA,Australiaand theMiddle East. He has been CEO of aLondonstock exchange main listed company, Chairman of two Australian companies and a UK company. He is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Energy Institute and was the founding member of the Institute of Petroleum Engineers.
