The Future

If TMO has a ‘product’, it is not the bioethanol (however valuable), nor our production facility (however elegantly engineered), nor even the TMO Organism itself.  

It is the intellectual property created using our Molecular Toolkit – the set of biological tools that enables us to develop new organisms that convert new feedstocks to produce new substances. We could produce jet fuel, butanol, diesel and other chemical intermediates – all from the same plant in which we are now producing bioethanol.

So TMO should be seen as the licensor of a technology platform for turning biomass into bioethanol and, ultimately, into a huge range of valuable derivatives.
